My name is Edgar Winter Thumper Birch , but you can just call me Edgar!
I am an albino dwarf Jersey Wooly rabbit so I have pink eyes and fluffy white fur, as I am descended from dwarf angora rabbits.
I don't have pedigree or original adoption papers because the original family who bought me for an Easter present got tired of me and left me out on the streets of Lowell, Massachusetts.
Luckily for me, some boys found me and brought me to the Nevins Farm MSPCA animal shelter, where I was bathed and fed.  I was very hungry because rabbits that are bred as pets can't survive in the wild very long, and I couldn't find anything but grass to eat in the city.
I wasn't at Nevins Farm very long before my new Mommy saw me - she had done some volunteer work at the farm, and often visited to bring treats for the sheltered animals.  As soon as we saw each other it was love at first sight, and she brought me home.  My new Daddy was very strict and told me and Mommy that my cage must always be kept clean, and the hay changed regularly - but that's okay, as a clean bunny is a happy bunny!  My daddy then built me a giant hutch outside, where I live when its warm outside.
The reason I asked my Daddy to put this message on the internet is to tell people that whenever you see someone interested in buying a rabbit, especially at Easter,  from a pet store or a breeder, make sure you tell them that they are not just buying a toy, they are adopting a new member of the family who will live for many years given the right care and lots of love.
